Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ultra Plan collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit our website, create an account, use the Ultra Plan iPhone app, connect third-party training services, or interact with the coach and support features.
Ultra Plan is built for runners training for ultramarathons. Because the product can include training, activity, and connected health and fitness information, some of the data you choose to provide may be considered sensitive under certain privacy laws.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created through your use of the service, and information received from connected services you choose to link.
- Account and profile information, such as your name, email address, sign-in method, and basic account settings.
- Onboarding and training information, such as target race, distance, race date, schedule, terrain access, current mileage, longest run, goals, preferences, injuries, and other constraints you choose to share.
- Workout and plan information, such as generated plans, manual workout logs, completed and skipped sessions, notes, and coach messages.
- Connected service data from Apple Health, Strava, Garmin, or other integrations you choose to enable, including activity history and related training metrics authorized by you.
- Subscription and transaction metadata from the App Store and RevenueCat, such as subscription status, trial eligibility, renewals, and entitlement state. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Usage, device, and analytics data, such as app version, device type, diagnostic logs, crash reports, IP address and approximate location inferred from it, and feature interaction data.
- Advertising attribution data, such as a Meta-generated app-scoped attribution identifier, device identifiers, app activation, onboarding completion, paywall views, checkout initiation, and subscription or purchase events and values. If you authorize tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, we may also use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), the email address associated with your account, and an app account identifier for advertising attribution and customer matching. The Meta SDK normalizes and hashes supported customer-matching information before transmission.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate, improve, secure, and support Ultra Plan and to provide the personalized planning experience the product is built around.
- Generate and deliver personalized training plans and previews.
- Power the in-app coach, explanations, and plan-aware guidance.
- Import, organize, and display connected training data when you authorize integrations.
- Maintain your account, authenticate sign-in, and keep the service secure.
- Measure performance, understand product usage, troubleshoot issues, and improve the app and website.
- Measure whether Meta ads lead to app installs, trials, subscriptions, or purchases; understand campaign performance; prevent duplicate conversion reporting; and, where permitted, optimize advertising.
- Communicate with you about your account, service updates, trial and subscription status, support requests, and product announcements where permitted by law.
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect our users, rights, and systems.
3. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as needed to run the service, comply with the law, act on your direction, or perform the advertising measurement described below. Some privacy laws may define advertising-related disclosures as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising even when no money changes hands; where applicable, you may opt out as described in Section 6.
- Service providers that help us run Ultra Plan, such as hosting, infrastructure, analytics, authentication, database, customer support, and subscription management vendors.
- Meta Platforms for advertising measurement and optimization. The app sends a limited, allowlisted set of app-funnel events through Meta's iOS SDK, including a confirmed trial start, and RevenueCat sends confirmed paid subscription lifecycle events through Meta's Conversions API. These disclosures may include an IP address and approximate location inferred from it, device or Meta identifiers, event timestamps, product identifiers, currency, and transaction values. If you authorize tracking through Apple's prompt, the app may also provide a normalized email address and app account identifier through Meta's dedicated customer-matching interface.
- We do not send Meta your coach messages, workout notes, injury or health details, training-plan contents, race-search text, name, phone number, or feedback. Email and app account identifiers are used for Meta customer matching only after you authorize tracking; they are cleared from the integration when tracking is not authorized.
- Integration partners you choose to connect, such as Apple, Strava, and Garmin, in accordance with your settings and those services' rules.
- AI and processing providers used to generate coach responses, summaries, or other product functionality, subject to our vendor controls and applicable law.
- Professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties where required to comply with law, enforce our rights, investigate abuse, or protect safety.
- A buyer, investor, or successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.
4. Third-party tools and integrations
Ultra Plan may rely on third-party providers such as Firebase, RevenueCat, PostHog, Meta Platforms, Apple, Strava, Garmin, and our hosting and infrastructure vendors. Those providers may process information on our behalf or receive information when you choose to connect their services or when we use the advertising measurement described in this policy.
Meta's iOS SDK supports app-event measurement, Apple's privacy-preserving advertising attribution, Aggregated Event Measurement, ATT-authorized customer matching, and on-device reporting of a confirmed trial start. RevenueCat acts as the authoritative sender of confirmed paid subscription lifecycle events so that the same conversion is not reported twice. Meta and RevenueCat process information under their own terms and privacy notices as well as our configuration and agreements with them.
Your use of connected services is also subject to the privacy terms and user agreements of those services. We are not responsible for third-party practices outside our control.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Ultra Plan, maintain legitimate business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Retention periods may vary based on the type of information, whether your account remains active, and whether we need the data for security, tax, accounting, or legal purposes.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict certain personal information. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You can also manage certain permissions directly through your device settings and through connected-service settings, including Apple Health, Strava, Garmin, and Apple's app-tracking permission.
- You may request account deletion or a copy of your information by contacting us.
- You may disconnect integrations through the app, the connected provider, or your device settings where available.
- You may opt out of non-essential marketing messages using unsubscribe links or by contacting us.
- You may decline Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt or later disable tracking for Ultra Plan in iOS Settings. Declining does not block the app's core functionality and prevents the app from supplying Meta with IDFA, email, or an app account identifier for cross-company customer matching. Privacy-preserving or non-IDFA app-event measurement may still occur where permitted by law.
- Where applicable, you may ask us to opt you out of advertising-related sale, sharing, or targeted advertising by contacting us at the address below.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No service can promise absolute security, and you use Ultra Plan with that understanding.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
8. International data transfers
Ultra Plan and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards designed to protect transferred information.
9. Children's privacy
Ultra Plan is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the website, the app, or other reasonable means. The updated version will become effective when posted unless otherwise stated.
